Twenty-five-year-old Taylor Lively has just lost her beloved Aunt Beth-the last of her family. After losing her parents four years ago and then her baby, it was Aunt Beth who helped her through her heartbreak. Now, with Beth gone, Taylor is all alone and unsure of how to move forward.

After the funeral, Taylor learns that Beth has left her everything-including her cottage by the sea. There, Taylor discovers two letters from her aunt: one revealing the cottage is magical, and the other saying that someone-a friend of Beth's-will be there to help her heal.
