Allstora is the independent bookstore committed to sharing all stories and sharing profits fairly. At Allstora, we are dedicated to championing authors. We split our profits with authors, doubling their income on the sale of each book–as opposed to another retailer whose name rhymes with "Glamazon."

In a time where important stories, especially from queer and marginalized voices, are being banned and ostracized across the country, Allstora is ensuring there is access to books that represent a vast range of intersections, narratives, and history.

Building off the success of the first iteration, ShopQueer, Allstora has expanded its catalog from 3,000 to 10 million titles, offering a catalog that appeals to all audiences through a diversified set of genres and authors.

Allstora was co-founded by New York Times bestselling author and LGBTQ+ advocate Eric Cervini, drag performer and actor Adam Powell, and television icon and author RuPaul.

ShopQueer has evolved into Allstora, a rebranding effort to expand our mission of supporting diverse authors and stories beyond the LGBTQ+ community to include all voices. Allstora represents our commitment to empowering authors and creating a space for inclusive storytelling.

Shopping from our catalogue is currently only available for U.S. customers, but stay tuned!

Allstora ensures that authors receive a fair share of profits from book sales, providing them with more support than traditional retailers. By purchasing from Allstora, you directly contribute to supporting diverse storytellers and their livelihoods.

Yes - currently, we're only able to support international shipping for Book Club Subscriptions. But you can still use our site to browse our recommendations! Stay tuned for more international shipping options soon.

You can help spread the word by sharing our story with friends and family! Even better, you can earn $5 USD for every person you refer who signs up for the Allstora Membership (available for US customers only) through our Affiliate program.

If you have received a book that you no longer want, you can return the unwanted item(s) within 30 days of the delivery date for a full refund of the cost of the item(s). You will be responsible for shipping and postage. The item(s) can be sent to our return address listed on the package. In order to verify your return and finalize your refund, you must email info@allstora.com with the tracking info for your return.

Book Club Subscriptions

To join a Book Club, simply sign up on our website! The cost is $24.50 USD/month + shipping. Perks include exclusive interviews, themed playlists, discussion forums, and limited-edition collectibles, with more exciting things to come! Of course, you get the shiny new book pick of the month shipped to your door, too.

Yes! We do charge on the 15th (PST) so if you'd like to cancel before the next renewal, make sure you do it before then.

You will be billed on a monthly basis on the 15th (PST) of each month, for the following month.

For example, you would be billed on the 15th of September for the October renewal.

We will announce each month’s selection on the 15th (PST) of the prior month. If you're not interested in a particular month's book, you have the option to try out another book club's pick. You'll have 48 hours after the selection is announced to make the swap! Just email to let us know.

Orders & Shipping

You can update your address in your account settings on our website. Simply log in, navigate to your account information, and edit your shipping address as needed.

If your package was lost or stolen, please contact us at info@allstora.com. We'll assist you in locating your package or arrange for a replacement shipment if necessary.

Authors

If your book is sold on Ingram, it will be included in our catalog. If your book is sold on Ingram and you still don’t see your book on our site today, contact us at authors@allstora.com.

In order to be eligible for author commissions, you will be required to submit an application and verify your identity. We partner with Plaid to provide an effortless and trusted ID verification process.

Follow the instructions on the Allstora Author Program page. 

Authors are eligible for payouts once they’ve accrued at least $10 USD in commissions. After you’ve verified your identity and connected your payment method, you will automatically receive your payout on the last day of the following month. (Example: commissions from sales in March will be paid April 30).

Affiliates

Anyone can sign up to become a marketing affiliate with Allstora! Once registered, you’ll be able to refer friends, family, or anyone to join the Allstora Membership (only available for US customers). Successful conversions will result in a $5 USD affiliate commission.

If you are a customer and have an account with Allstora, you will find your referral link on your account page. Simply follow the steps from there to link your bank account for payouts, once eligible.

Rainbow Book Bus

The Rainbow Book Bus is Allstora's philanthropic initiative dedicated to distributing diverse books to communities facing book bans and censorship, especially in LGBTQ+ communities. The bus travels across the country, partnering with local organizations to give away books and promote literacy. Learn more about the Rainbow Book Bus here.
