A woman lives on a mountainside, between the mist and the forest. Her mission is to watch the borders and report any anomalies to the guard. Her journals record her spartan routine and memories of a childhood with a brutal mother and unrealized dreams of an education. In the background, there is the constant rumble from the quarry and armored trucks. One day, she finds a body in the yard; fearful of attracting attention, she and the guard decide to bury it. But another soon appears. And another, and another....
