Critical Reviews

Gr 2-5-This singular, whimsically goth series is back with its sixth and final installment. Stitch Head, a creation of Mad Professor Erasmus, must protect the creature in the castle from being taken by Dottie Dauntless, a renowned Monster Hunter. Teaming up with Arabella and the other monster creations from the castle, Stitch Head has his work cut out for him. Gothic black-and-white illustrations bring this fun, wacky story to life, and the use of frequent and hilarious dramatic language makes it a fun read aloud. Hand to fans of Jim Benton's "Franny K. Stein" and Harriet Muncaster's "Isadora Moon" who are ready for something longer and more challenging. VERDICT Purchase where the previous books in this series are popular. --School Library Journal
