Her parents are very eager to take her to the museum that has all the creatures that live in the deep. On the drive, she drifts off to sleep, but wakes to the magical sights of floating jellyfish, penguins, sharks, and a whale. With each discovery, from the stately tortoise to playful sea lions, readers can join her in searching for the most brilliant fish of all: the blue tang. She encounters countless sea animals on her journey, but will she spot the one fish she wants to see the most?

I appreciate how the writing embraces a sense of wonder, using simple rhymes and repetitive patterns to invite young children into the young girl's experience. It's perfect for discussing ocean animals, their habitats, or for making a yes/no chart with the question, "Have you ever been to the aquarium?" The illustrations by Evonna McIntosh are a real standout: they are rendered with such realistic detail that it almost feels like you're peering into the different tanks right along with Milah. With its wide variety of sea creatures, young animal lovers will be completely drawn to this story, especially those who dream of having their own marine life adventure. I highly recommend this cheerful story that vividly captures the excitement and curiosity in exploring new places with family.
