Description

Meet a host of farm characters illustrated in high-contrast shades to suit babies' developing vision!

Ingela P. Arrhenius' cheerful creatures are back in a whole new light! My First Cloth Book: Cuddly Sheep is illustrated in the first shades and colors that babies can perceive as they develop vision in the retina and optic nerve: black, white, and red. The simple and interactive text makes for an engaging read aloud experience.

With 7 different smiling characters to find, this book will also appeal to older babies who can practice image and word recognition, as well as dexterity and speech.

About the Author

Ingela P Arrhenius (Illustrator)
Ingela P Arrhenius graduated from art school in the early 90s and has been working as an illustrator ever since. At first, she worked in advertising and magazines, but her focus over the past ten years has been on products and books.

Ingela has created patterns for fabrics, wallpaper and stationery, as well as packaging and home accessories. She has also collaborated with several toy producers around the world and her love of retro style, typography and colour is reflected in all her work. Ingela lives in Stockholm with her husband (an author) and two sons.

Critical Reviews

"Cuddly Sheep for the win!! . . . Now I'm wracking my brain a little but can you think of many high contrast cloth books with felt flaps AND a mirror? It feels like we should have seen a plethora of these already, but the fact of the matter is that in spite of all those obvious details, I think this is the very first book of its kind that I've ever encountered. Happily, it's coming to us from board book superstar Ingela P. Arrhenius as well. Now I can't hope to try to understand the logistics that go into making books of this sort. All I can say is that I love this combination, and so a hat tip to Nosy Crow for figuring out how to make a book so good, it feels like it should have been in our collections all along."
