We need to get these in the hands of as many people we know who are incarcerated or are coming out of prison. There are simple, step-by-step instructions on how to prepare yourself, what goals to set, how to reach them, and how to remain inspired to create a life for yourself while maintaining peace with your situation. He goes from the day you are being released to how to cope with day one, how to prepare for those things, what to think about, what to set up, and how to handle yourself throughout. It's handy and it fits in your pocket (if you are wearing men's pants. We won't talk about the pockets in women's clothing!). This book is essential and it's a quick and easy reference. It won't overwhelm its reader, it's straight and to the point. What an extremely useful book. Of course, he knows what must be done, he has gone through it himself and is an advocate for others. This is the book you need for your incarcerated or soon-to-be-released friends and family.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is the advice people need when coming home
John Mandalla has written a tremendously useful, greatly needed book about people returning from prison. With all the talk about transitional classes inside, nothing really prepares a person for reentering society. This book is a much-needed resource, not only for the persons themselves, but for their friends and families.
