Sashiko 365: Stitch a New Sashiko Embroidery Pattern Every Day of the Year
A collection of 365 different sashiko patterns to sew - one for every day of the year.
Sashiko sewing expert, Susan Briscoe, demonstrates 365 different sashiko patterns, one for each day of the year - sew all 365 to make a beautiful sashiko quilt featuring all the designs
Each sashiko pattern is stitched onto a four-inch square piece of fabric making it very accessible to sew one swatch every day. You can record the date of each sample you stitch in the book to create a record of your sewing.
All of the stitch patterns are illustrated with a photograph of the stitched sample showing some stitches in different coloured thread (this is used by the author to identify which stitches to do first), next to a diagram showing the stitch direction and the order of the stitches on the grid. All the patterns are sewn on four-inch fabric swatches which can then be pieced together to create the ultimate double bed sized sashiko sampler quilt. But as well as sewing the four-inch samples separately to make them into a large bed-sized quilt, the patterns can also be repeated to create larger designs over a wider surface area to make wall hangings, throws, table mats and smaller quilts - with this collection of 365 designs the possibilities are endless.
Sashiko embroidery is a decorative sewing technique from Japan which was traditionally used to reinforce clothing and other textiles. It is an ideal stitch for visible mending and has become incredibly popular over the last few years. The technique of sewing horizontal and vertical stitches makes extremely attractive geometric designs that can be adapted to suit a wide range of sewing projects.
Susan Briscoe is an expert in Japanese sewing techniques and has travelled to Japan numerous times. She is the author of the best-selling Ultimate Sashiko Sourcebook and runs regular workshops teaching sashiko sewing. This is the first time all of these 365 designs will appear in one book. Susan has included the Japanese name and pattern type in the text and has grouped specific design patterns together so you can see how they develop and use the collection to build your skills and knowledge of sashiko patterns.

Surrounded by Bad Bosses (and Lazy Employees): How to Stop Struggling, Start Succeeding, and Deal with Idiots at Work [The Surrounded by Idiots Series
Part of the bestselling Surrounded by Idiots series!
Everyone has had a bad boss. You might have one right now. You might even be one. Bad bosses are a fact of the workplace, whether they're short-tempered, unclear about expectations, or too disorganized to manage so much as a stapler. But how do you not only survive a difficult boss, but help your career thrive despite them? By identifying your boss's behavior profile you'll be better able to interact with them no matter what the situation. Erikson offers example stories and concrete steps to help you thrive in any work situation. Of course, much as we love to blame our bosses, sometimes management isn't the problem at all. For every bad boss there is also a lazy employee, so Erikson also looks at the issue from a completely different perspective--employees themselves-- and explores why some colleagues frequently underachieve, and what you can do to change this if you're the boss. Written with Erikson's signature humor and warmth, Surrounded by Bad Bosses (And Lazy Employees) will help you deal with the most hopeless managers and employees you can imagine--and keep you entertained along the way.
Internationally bestselling author Thomas Erikson has helped changed how the world thinks about behavior using a simple 4-color behavior analysis system. In Surrounded by Bad Bosses he applies that same system to revolutionize the workplace. -

With practical, immediate ways to establish a mindful connection with our bodies, The Vagus Nerve Reset helps us tap into our body's innate capacity to process and return to a state of safety, transforming the way we respond to every kind of challenge in life. Feeling anxious and disconnected are signs of a nervous system that's out of balance. By tuning in to your vagus nerve you can gently shape your nervous system to achieve greater resilience, improved sleep and digestion, relief from anxiety, and healing from past traumas.- The power of somatic therapy: learn how to work with your body to change the way you feel, think, and behave to become more resilient
- A program to positively change your mood and behavior: you'll assess how your vagus nerve is functioning, then incorporate practices such as breath, touch, movement, and intention to grow your connection to your body

Shadow Work: Face Hidden Fears, Heal Trauma, Awaken Your Dream Life
Shadow work is the act of facing the darkest part of our psyche to unlock our full potential and discover true self-love. This powerful technique has helped countless patients achieve what traditional therapy could not. Danielle Massi is a licensed mental health therapist who specializes in this practice, and she is the perfect guide for diving deep into the unconscious.
Diagnosed with cervical cancer before her thirtieth birthday, Massi resolved to study the effects of the mind on the body. With the knowledge that chronic stress is a leading cause of disease, she focused on developing techniques to help her patients access their unconscious--the part of our mind that is the body's mechanism for repressing information that is possibly too intense for the psyche. When unchecked, this shadow side of our consciousness builds up over time and can create a domino effect of consequences in our physical body. When we work with the shadow, we free ourselves from a recurring trauma response and can rewire the brain for mind and body health, ease, and abundance.
Massi's in-depth instruction provides a framework for breaking down the root causes of trauma and learning how to prevent self-sabotage. With an engaging, inviting, and authoritative voice, she provides an essential guide to recreating life on your terms.
