We, in early childhood education, understand the power of storytelling and in this book, the authors use that power to tell their stories-stories so familiar to many of us-of overcoming odds and challenges to victory and success. Iyanla Vanzant says, "It's important that we share our experiences with other people. Your story will heal you and your story will heal somebody else. When you tell your story, you free yourself and give other people permission to acknowledge their own story."
