Riley Taylor longs for something exciting, anywhere, anything but his uneventful life at home. To his surprise, he gets exactly that when he stumbles upon someone using magic, or more accurately, playing it on a piano.

Riley's life takes a dramatic turn when he's invited to study at a school for music where he too can learn to play magic with his electric guitar.

But before he can adjust to his new life, Riley and his friends are whisked away on a quest across Canada where they will battle discorded monsters, play magic on their instruments, and hopefully, find the lost songs they seek.
