Description

A rocket reaches for the stars in this charming interstellar Ready-to-Go! Ready-to-Read perfect for budding astronauts just starting to read!

Rumble! Rumble! Rocket is in place. Can Rocket go to space?

Perfect for kids at the beginning of their reading journeys, this book was written for children who have learned the alphabet and are ready to start reading! And what better way to get kids excited than with a hilarious story with words they can read on their own?

Each Ready-to-Go! Ready-to-Read includes a note to parents explaining what their child can expect, a guide at the beginning for readers to become familiar with the words they will encounter in the story, and reading comprehension questions at the end. Each Ready-to-Go! story contains about 100 words. This book features thirty sight words, five rhyming words, fourteen bonus words, and repetition to help children reinforce their new reading skills.

Kirk Parrish grew up on a little island just outside of Seattle. As a youngster, he developed a fondness for scribbling caped superheroes and yearned to one day become a grandmaster ninja. Today, Parrish has (mostly) put down his ninja aspirations and is an illustrator and designer, currently based in Orlando, Florida. Over the last decade, his artwork has appeared in video games, animation, publishing, and advertising. Visit him online at KirksArt.com.

Critical Reviews

There are only a few words on each page, repeating words, and rhyming words. Parrish's illustrations are vibrant, with bold, bright jewel tones and colorful, collage-style patterns elements.--School Library Journal "1/16/26"
