A Chapter 4 entry, for example, "Toolkit: How to Detect the Thin Line," is exactly the gear I need every day as a working journalist to detect disinformation, and I appreciate the ways the book gives me a framework for seeing patterns, naming tactics and building resilience. Unfortunately the topic reminded me of some sad sentences that have made it into publication which I recognize as failures in U.S. journalism -but J.J. Green's manual gives me hope that I will improve along with fellow professional journalists who desperately need the shared language and strategies he provides so we can address the battle for truth. I definitely will be keeping this book on my desk especially to confront disputed data claims and recognize coordinated or bad-faith amplification.
