After clashing with the principal of the middle-grade school where she teaches, Hazel Belmont is happy to accept the offer of a job at the town's new sports center owned by Ross Roberts and Mike Dawson, a tennis pro who's semi-retired and teaches tennis at the center. When Hazel notices a young boy, Jed, hanging around the tennis courts, she befriends him, and she and Mike discover he has real talent.
