Description

Knit 20 vibrant colorwork projects for you and your home, from renowned British knitwear designer and artist Dee Hardwicke.

'This superbly designed book is a unique celebration of the way that knitting can bring us together by using art and decoration to tell our stories.' FineFettleFabrics.uk

Brimming with artistic inspiration and filled with patterns for gorgeous colorwork knitwear and joyful pieces for the home, this creative and original book is perfect for confident knitters.

Step inside Dee Hardwicke's world and discover:
  • 20 nature-inspired colorwork knitting patterns - 9 cushions, 3 wraps, 3 quilts, 2 sweaters, 1 vest, 1 hat, 1 pair of gloves.
  • Gorgeous and inspiring photography to make the creative process as clear as possible
  • Snippets of Dee's sketchbooks throughout, providing a fascinating insight into her working process
  • An exclusive fold-out 'map' for laying out and seaming the Butterfly Patchwork Quilt.

Illustrated throughout with beautiful watercolors and painterly photography, The Knitted Fabric brings the pages of Dee's sketchbooks to life. As Dee explains, "I find the process of knitting very similar to painting, with each stitch being a brushstroke of color. As stitches loop together, they create a knitted fabric, a kind of narrative of art, making and the people and landscapes that inspire me".
