Description

Where monkeys swing in groves of trees

and parrots soar across the sky,

there lives a tiny ladybug

who has a single wing to fly.

Can her friends help her out?

Will she give it a try?

With a small single wing,

will she finally fly?

Ladybug has wanted nothing more than to fly like her friends. This is seemingly impossible for her, as she only has one wing, and every attempt she makes to fly goes wrong. Ladybug decides to use the advice from others- as well as her own idea- to creatively come up with a solution to fly. Will her idea work? Follow ladybug as she learns the valuable lesson to never give up and embrace the fact that it's okay to be different.

Fly, Ladybug, Fly! teaches us that when you have grit and determination, you can find a way to overcome barriers and that mistakes are okay and a part of learning. This book is precious and should be available to teachers and parents for all children." -Dr. Myrtle Combrink, retired superintendent

"The book evoked empathy and compassion toward an endearing main character as she struggled to adjust to a very real disability. Rather than merely accepting her limitations, she

problem solved ways to make the best of them. This simple yet powerful message is one that children of all ages could embrace. I highly recommend it." -Marsha Ridings, MA in Education Counseling, 25 years as a middle school language and reading teacher
