SIR ERNEST ALFRED THOMPSON WALLIS BUDGE (1857-1934) was a British Egyptologist and philologist. In 1988, he was working as a buyer for the British Museum in Egypt when he first came across the original source material for The Egyptian Book of the Dead. He published many works on the ancient Near East.
