Description

Two storm chasers find a love that could blow them away in this electric debut romance.

Wedding photographer Sloane Michaels spends most of her year running after brides, but she lives for the six weeks each spring she chases tornadoes instead. When the prestigious magazine Nature Shots announces a storm cover contest, Sloane knows that winning could be her best opportunity to establish herself in landscape photography.

The last thing she needs is a distraction in the form of reckless "Wild Wes" Talbot. A legend among storm chasers, he's been Sloane's close, personal frenemy for the last decade and is the man to beat for the cover contest.

Sloane isn't surprised when Wes gets in an accident that jeopardizes his chances. But with an active weather pattern emerging, she doubles down on her need to beat Wes fair and square, and begrudgingly invites him to join her for the remainder of the season.

As they race through hail, high winds, and stormy skies, Sloane realizes that Wes might be more than the rich, flirty, Texas wildcard she thought she knew -- and that the feelings blooming between them are more charged and dangerous than the storms they're chasing.

About the Author

Heather Frances is a writer, photographer, lifelong weather nerd and occasional storm chaser cleverly disguised as an adult with a day job in finance (though she really prefers writing kissing books). When not at home in New England drinking far too much coffee, you'll find her somewhere with questionable cell phone service, camera in hand.

Critical Reviews

"The scorching summer romance of my dreams. I can't wait for readers to be introduced to Heather Frances."--B.K. Borison, #1 New York Times bestselling author of And Now, Back To You

"I felt this book in my bones -- the humidity of a summer storm, the crisp jolt of lightning against a night sky, the aching tenderness of having that one person you know you shouldn't be into touch you in just the right way. Wes and Sloane both came to storm chasing for their own reasons, and it was so powerful to watch them grapple with those even while they realized they were better working together than apart. Heather Frances' Chase Me If You Can is a unicorn of a romance debut."--Alicia Thompson, USA Today bestselling author of Never Been Shipped

"Chase Me If You Can is the perfect storm of romance and adventure. I was blown away by Wes and Sloane's chemistry, banter, and growth, and learned so much about the art of stormchasing that by the time I finished reading I wanted to hop in my car and seek out a tornado (okay, fine, maybe just a stormchaser as hot as Wes) for myself. An ode to eldest daughters and learning what's worth chasing in life, Heather Frances has crafted a thunderously sexy debut that will take romance readers by storm."--Emily Krempholtz, USA Today bestselling author of Violet Thistlewaite Is Not a Villain Anymore

"Chase Me If You Can is a swoony and thrilling love story that made me want to hop in my car and hunt a tornado. Heather Frances has a gift for vivid description, nuanced characters, and sizzling love scenes, and Wes and Sloane's chemistry is as electric as the storms they chase. Perfect for readers who want Twisters with more spice!"--Lauren Connolly, author of Love in Plane Sight

"In addition to writing a superb love story, Frances does an excellent job of portraying the various aspects of storm-chasing: the thrills of seeing a tornado up close, the camaraderie of the chasing community, the misogyny and danger that is also present, and the destruction and devastation these storms can bring when they hit a town...Readers will get swept up in Frances's fantastic debut."--Library Journal (starred)

"The chemistry between the two leads is palpable, and the unique setting of a road trip to chase storms will have fans of close proximity begging for more. These rivals-to-lovers will have readers on the edge of their seats... Fans of the 2024 movie Twisters and rivals-to-lovers will adore this book."--Booklist

"Frances's electric debut leverages the danger of summer storms to bring two adventurous photographers together...Fierce weather outside and steamy scenes inside make for a solid page-turner. Twisters fans will want to check this out."--Publishers Weekly

"The novel's storm-chasing backdrop makes for an exhilarating setting, blending frequent danger with vividly described landscapes...Sloane and Wes' dynamic is equally compelling, as their shared familial struggles add emotional depth and conflict, making their connection feel earned amid the chaos. A lively and electrifying love story."--Kirkus Reviews
