Here is some of what the book's four sections cover:

Critical Reviews

While this book won't teach you how to draw, it should be very helpful for those wanting to get out and draw people on location. If you've never done it, it's a daunting task but Pete's tips should put your mind at ease and provide a gentle nudge to get you out the door.--Larry Marshall "Larry D. Marshall Blog" (11/3/2016 12:00:00 AM)

The book provides you with the idea and techniques and invites you to experiment and explore. It's a good book to refer back to for inspiration.--Teoh Yi Chie "Parka Blogs" (3/18/2017 12:00:00 AM)

The 5-Minute Sketching books feel like you've just scored the unbelievable luck of landing in a sketching group with the author.--Bekki Page "Doodlewash Blog" (8/11/2018 12:00:00 AM)

Urban sketcher Scully's book on drawing people includes four chapters on observation, subject matter, time-saving techniques, and supplies. Clear and catchy headings such as "hair in a hurry" describe short idea sections consisting of diagrammed examples and five brief tips. There are no step-by-step exercises, but instead many examples of sketches by a variety of artists with short explanations of methods used. This guide encourages readers to jump right in, providing the basics on composition; proportions of human faces and bodies; the details of facial features; and posture and portraiture. Discussion of technique focuses on speed. With this guide, anyone who wants to fit making art into their busy schedule will find ample inspiration and practical advice to make that happen.--Heather Halliday "Library Journal" (2/2/2017 12:00:00 AM)
