Celia Laskey & Amy Spalding
Celia Laskey is the author of Cover Story, So Happy for You, and Under the Rainbow, a finalist for the 2020 Center for Fiction First Novel Prize. Her other work has appeared in Catapult, Guernica, The Minnesota Review, and elsewhere. She has an MFA from the University of New Mexico and currently lives in Los Angeles with her dog Whiskey. She loves gossiping about closeted celebrities, dissecting Taylor Swift lyrics, singing the praises of probiotics, learning the names of plants via an app on her phone, rewatching Mad Men or Veep for the 43728th time, and picking up her holds from the library.
Amy Spalding is the author of several novels, including the bestselling For Her Consideration, On Her Terms, We Used to Be Friends, and The Summer of Jordi Perez (and the Best Burger in Los Angeles), which was named a best book of 2018 by NPR, the Boston Globe, Kirkus Reviews, and more. She is a recipient of the 2023 Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award for the authentic, funny, and diverse representation of the LGBTQ+ community in her books. Amy grew up in St. Louis and now lives in Los Angeles. She has a B.A. in Advertising & Marketing Communications from Webster University and an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School. Amy studied longform improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
