For When Everything Is Burning
This one is a little different.
If you feel like the world forgot to prepare a spot for you, this is for you.
If you feel like you were born into the wrong timeline, the wrong culture, or on the wrong planet, this is for you.
If you've ever found yourself questioning your humanity and wondering if you are "something else," this is for you.
If you feel like your life has been an endless quest for something you haven't found, this is for you.
If you feel more aware of the pain, the suffering, the darkness, and the brokenness of the world, this is for you.
If you relate to these words, please know that I see you. That you aren't anywhere near as alone as you feel. That there are others like you. Your pain is real and valid, even if nobody around you understands it.
You don't have to hide anymore. You don't have to keep wearing that brave face for everyone else's benefit, even when it feels like you're drowning inside. You can face the darkness head-on, and I can teach you how.
First, we have to identify the lies the world tells you and how to stop listening to them. There are six of them in particular that we hear over and over again:
-Everything is your fault
-You can't change anything
-You're missing something
-What feels true is true
-You're not trying hard enough
-You aren't ready
Most people believe and align with these lies. You don't have to. If you learn how to recognize them and speak truth to them over and over again, they start to quiet down. This lets you be you again, instead of what the world tries to make you into.
Second, we have to look at the automatic and subconscious choices your mind makes throughout your day. Most of your life is lived automatically based on programs and algorithms that are pre-loaded for you. You can change most of them. You can use neurological chainsaws to cut through the habits and routines, to reshape your mental processes into whatever you want them to be.
This work is a blend of psychology, neuroscience, and memoirs. Scattered in between the strategies and concepts are paired journal entries. Passages written by someone in their darkest hour, someone who resents the fact that they were forced to exist, and responses written by someone who has conquered their darkest hour and knows the way out. These passages add a personal, intimate, and raw touch for the reader.
This book is for those whose needs run deeper. For people whose problems cannot be solved with a lavish vacation and regular spa days. For people more in need of a renovation than a remodeling. If that sounds like you, then this work is for you. -

From Chaos to Creativity: Building a Productivity System for Artists and Writers
Art and writing can be the most fulfilling part of our lives. But it's often difficult to make space for it in our day-to-day existence, especially if we're not at the point yet where creating it is our job. Sometimes we have so many ideas it's difficult to keep them all organized, much less maintaining a creative schedule or dedicated workspace. With all the clutter overwhelming your scattered brain (not to mention your desk), it's all too easy to fall into procrastination and disarray. From Chaos to Creativity is a series of glowing beacon. Jessie L. Kwak has written a Getting Things Done for artists and writers, drawing on her experience as a professional copywriter with a novel-writing habit, and from interviews with other authors, artists, musicians, and designers, to teach you how to focus on the good ideas, manage your project, make time in your life, and execute your passions to completion. Make great art by channeling your chaotic creative force into productive power and let the world see what you're capable of! -
Taking the Leap: Freeing Ourselves from Old Habits and Fears
Learn to free yourself from destructive habits and live a life of courage and compassion with these heart-to-heart teachings from "one of the world's wisest women" (O, the Oprah Magazine). Ever feel trapped in the same old habits and painful emotions time and time again? These are patterns we all face, and sometimes they feel impossible to shake. So how can we get unstuck? Drawing on time-honored Buddhist teachings on shenpa (all the attachments and compulsions that cause us suffering), Pema Chödrön shows how certain habits of mind tend to "hook" us and get us stuck in states of anger, blame, self-hatred, addiction, and so much more--and, most of all, how we can liberate ourselves from them. "This path entails uncovering three basic human qualities," explains Pema. "They are natural intelligence, natural warmth, and natural openness. Everyone, everywhere, all over the globe, has these qualities and can call on them to help themselves and others." Pema shares insights and exercises from her lifetime of practice that we can immediately put to use in our lives to awaken these essential qualities and help us to take a bold leap toward a new way of living--one that will bring about positive transformation for ourselves and for our troubled world.Sold out -
Where You Go Is Not Who You'll Be: An Antidote to the College Admissions Mania
Read award-winning journalist Frank Bruni's New York Times bestseller: an inspiring manifesto about everything wrong with today's frenzied college admissions process and how to make the most of your college years. Over the last few decades, Americans have turned college admissions into a terrifying and occasionally devastating process, preceded by test prep, tutors, all sorts of stratagems, all kinds of rankings, and a conviction among too many young people that their futures will be determined and their worth established by which schools say yes and which say no. In Where You Go is Not Who You'll Be, Frank Bruni explains why this mindset is wrong, giving students and their parents a new perspective on this brutal, deeply flawed competition and a path out of the anxiety that it provokes. Bruni, a bestselling author and a columnist for the New York Times, shows that the Ivy League has no monopoly on corner offices, governors' mansions, or the most prestigious academic and scientific grants. Through statistics, surveys, and the stories of hugely successful people, he demonstrates that many kinds of colleges serve as ideal springboards. And he illuminates how to make the most of them. What matters in the end are students' efforts in and out of the classroom, not the name on their diploma. Where you go isn't who you'll be. Americans need to hear that--and this indispensable manifesto says it with eloquence and respect for the real promise of higher education.Sold out -

What do you want out of life? To make a lot of money--or work for justice? To run marathons--or sing in a choir? To have children--or travel the world? The things we care about in life--family, friendship, leisure activities, work, our moral ideals--often conflict, preventing us from doing what matters most to us. At the same time, the book offers strategies for coping with obstacles to realizing your goals, including gender bias and other kinds of discrimination.
