Run, Darling: A Gabor Sisters Novel
Three Sisters. One War. A Harrowing Escape.
Before the Sexual Revolution, reality TV, and social media, there lived the Gabors, a family of beguiling glamour icons with a global following.
For decades, the gorgeous trio of Zsa Zsa, Eva, and Magda, with their Auntie Mame mother, dominated gossip columns, TV and movie screens, talk shows, and tabloids with their talent, clever quips, branded beauty products-and utter disregard for society's rules.
While we many remember their whipped blonde hair, jewelry and gowns, multiple marriages, and the word, 'dahlink, ' sprinkled like sugar into every sentence, few knew of this Jewish family's shocking secrets, painful pasts, and harrowing journey from Nazi-dominated Europe to America and from obscurity to celebrity.
Run, Darling is that untold story.

Counterattacks at Thirty (Nomad Edition)
From the bestselling author of Almond, The Devil Wears Prada meets The Office in this witty, humane, and ultimately transformative story of a group of young workers who rebel against the status quo, now available in a convenient pocket-sized portable Nomad Edition.
Jihye is an ordinary woman who has never been extraordinary. In her administrative job at the Academy, she silently tolerates office politics and the absurdities of Korean bureaucracy. Forever only one misplaced email away from career catastrophe, she effectively becomes a master of the silent eye-roll and the tactical coffee run. But all her efforts to endure her superiors and the semi-hostile work environment they create are upended when a new intern, Gyuok Lee, arrives.
Like a pacifist version of V in V for Vendetta, Gyuok recruits a trio of office allies to carry out plans for minor revenge. Together, these four "rebels" commit tiny protests against those in more powerful positions through spraying graffiti, throwing eggs, and writing anonymous exposés. But as their attacks increase, the initial joy they felt at the release becomes something more and Jihye and the others will discover the beauty of friendship and the extraordinary power of unity against adversity.

What if you had the chance to revisit every choice that mattered?
Sabrina Sorensen is 37, single, and just lost a fabulous job as manager of a posh Parisian restaurant. She heads home to California for her younger sister's engagement party, and it's an open door for her mother and siblings to chide Sabrina for her inability to commit to any of her previous jobs and relationships. What they don't know is that Sabrina, for fifteen long years, has been building her résumé in hopes of becoming an inspector for the famed MICHELIN guides--a path that has required keeping her ambitions hidden, even from her family. And, with the job loss, all she's worked for is in jeopardy. After her mother's final clumsy attempt to fix her up with the charming "boy next door," Sabrina leaves the party and retreats to the Burbank Airport.
The problem? She has nowhere to go.
She arrives at the airport, resolved to put the family conflict behind her and focus on her work, but now her mother's critical voice fills her with doubts. Has she been wasting her life? Faced with the enormity of her next decision, Sabrina breaks down at the ticket counter. The ticket agent pulls her aside and offers her the life-altering opportunity to revisit some of her key life choices, both personal and professional. Sabrina suddenly is given the rare chance to answer the burning question: has she been foolish to sacrifice so much for her dream of becoming a Michelin inspector? And will a spark with an aspiring Danish chef change her priorities altogether?

Mom Brain
"Hackett's skillful plotting and character work will keep readers hooked..."- Publishers Weekly
Can a luxury resort transform her life by giving her back control? Georgia Evans thinks it sounds too good to be true. Turns out her motherly intuition isn't wrong . . . In the vein of Liane Moriarty's Nine Perfect Strangers, Mom Brain turns a discerning eye toward society's view on modern motherhood and reframes "mom brain" as a superpower.
Welcome to The Program, an immersive week-long experience set to the backdrop of the breathtaking island of O'ahu, where mothers in all stages of crisis can come to take control of their lives. It's not exactly the type of thing Georgia Evans--a busy working mother of two--would usually consider. However, still spiraling from a debacle that crowned her "internet's worst mom," she is desperate enough to try anything.
Once on the island, Georgia is quickly won over by the elegant (and somewhat enigmatic) founder of The Program, Cecilia Clements. Cecilia shows The Program's attendees how the biology of motherhood has imprisoned them. More importantly, she promises them freedom from that prison. Captivated by this possibility and the compelling science behind it, Georgia grows deeply involved with Cecilia's mission, ignoring any doubt that starts to creep in. That's the whole point of The Program, after all: you can't really trust a mom brain.

Veer
In Veer, award-winning poet Cole Swensen examines the everyday world through a lens that shifts perception, offering surprising, sometimes zany perspectives on things we often take for granted. These poems challenge the presumption that "nature" is an "other," suggesting instead that we all--animal, plant, mineral--are seamlessly fused in the joint project of living.
A few years ago, Swensen returned to her native California and found herself in a much closer relationship with trees, wind, and crows. Their insistent presence drew her into a new kind of active attention--thinking into things rather than about them and looking with things rather than at them. That shift in perspective underlies the difference between traditional nature poetry and contemporary eco-poetics, reshaping Swensen's work into a practice of collaboration and participation. Veer is a defiantly optimistic book, committed to the astonishing beauty and intensity of the world, despite the contemporary political and industrial forces determined to dismantle it.
Veer is to be the first collection published under Alice James Books' newly established Jean Valentine Series, which honors the work of mid-career women poets who are reshaping the landscape of contemporary poetry. Known for her cool, omniscient voice and formally innovative work, Swensen brings to Veer the clarity and precision of a poet at the height of her craft. Organized in three parts, Tic, Tac, and Tao, these poems often twist logic and toy with the absurd in an attempt to engage the things of the surrounding world without appropriating them--allowing each their place at the table, as it were, when humans are making decisions that will greatly affect them.

Impressionism: Origins, Practice, Reception
The enduring popularity of Impressionism belies what the group of eponymous painters stood for. In the 1870s and 1880s, French artists dubbed the Impressionists, including Pissarro, Monet, Degas, Morisot, and Renoir, adopted a revolutionary style of technique and subject matter that defied the traditions of the French Academy and the salons. Rooted in anarchism, political radicalism, and a belief in science and individualism, their paintings captured modern life in ways never seen before.
Acclaimed art historian Belinda Thomson's insightful study sheds light on the personal lives and creative thinking behind the great Impressionists, exploring the varied factors that shaped their masterpieces. From family backgrounds to the importance of the art market and the critical reception that challenged, yet ultimately defined their work, this introduction offers a nuanced exploration of one of the most transformative movements in art history.

Both Can Be True
When a local mother goes missing, two estranged sisters are pulled back into each other's lives and forced to confront old wounds, fractured trust, and the many ways a woman can disappear in plain sight.
Frankie is the funny one, full of restless energy and sharp edges, the sister who got sober, opened a bookstore, and slipped into a version of domestic life without ever fully confronting the past. Mere is the steady one, the caretaker, a mother quietly unraveling under the demands of her neurodivergent daughter and the loneliness of a marriage to a husband who sees the world through an entirely different lens.
For the Gilmore sisters, losing their mother to cancer at a young age gave them a brief window of closeness they've never been able to reclaim. But over the years, a mentally ill father, the unspoken trauma of sexual violence, and the different vices they turned to for survival fractured their bond and created a divide of resentment neither of them could bring themselves to cross. When a woman in Frankie's social circle disappears, the sisters are pulled into a shared reckoning and can no longer deny the past that has shaped so much of their present.
Set against the backdrop of a quiet Northern California mountain town, this gripping and emotionally layered novel unfolds in alternating perspectives, revealing the many ways women vanish inside motherhood, addiction, marriage, and shame. Told with raw honesty and wry compassion, Jessica Guerrieri's sophomore novel is a story of sisterhood, acceptance, the unspoken truths we carry, and the redemptive power of bridging pain into connection.
